Maki Master

Maki Master is a short GM-less game to be played at the dining table - specifically when eating takeout maki. All mechanics are driven by things that any respectable sushi restaurant would include with their sushi sets. No need to get a hold of any dice or coins! 

Grab your chopsticks, dispense your soy sauce, and get ready to start playing with your food!

What's the fiction?

In the world of Maki Master, each player is in charge of running a local maki shop in a small town, somewhere on the coast of Japan. Throughout the game you will meet the locals, explore the town and surrounding area and complete tasks to get your rolls ready! While all of this is happening, at the dining table, you are competing for each others maki! By the end, the ultimate question will be answered: Who has the best roll in town?

For god's sake: Why?

I have a long list of ideas that keeps growing and growing, but this particular one came to me in a dream after I ate too much maki for dinner. Luckily, the timing was right, as just a few weeks later the One-Page RPG Jam 2026 was announced. I decided that this must have been fate and went on to make my dream a reality.

Before you download: 

Depending on what kind of maki set you are eating you will have to download a different game version - avocado, cucumber or any other veggie calls for the veggie version; seafoods, like salmon, crab and so on, mean you use the seafood version!
